Every person in Monroe County who wants to go to college will now have the opportunity to do so.  Beginning with the fall 2008 semester, the Gilmore Foundation, Inc. will pay for 4 semesters of higher education at Itawamba Community College, a comprehensive two-year institution with campuses in Fulton and Tupelo .

Through the guaranteed tuition program, applicants may pursue any type of program offered at Itawamba Community College.  There will be no income requirement on the free tuition being offered.   Non-tuition related expenses such as books & supplies and room & board will not be covered by the guaranteed tuition program.  

 To qualify for the guaranteed tuition program, the applicant must reside in Monroe County and agree to: 

1.       Complete high school graduation or obtain GED by the end of  May

2.       Take the ACT  before the end of June

3.       Apply for MTAG by the end of July

4.       Complete the FAFSA by the end of July

(Applicant must apply for MTAG and FAFSA, then the remainder of the unpaid  tuition will be funded by the Gilmore Foundation through the Monroe County Guaranteed Tuition Program.)

5.       Enroll as a full-time (12 hours minimum) student

6.       Maintain a 2.0 average on a 4.0 system for each semester

(If a student drops below full-time status or drops below a semester average of  2.0, then he or she is permanently dropped from the program – never to return.)

 Applications for the Monroe County Guaranteed Tuition Program will be available through ICC’s Financial Aid Office after January 2008.
